Pedaling for a Purpose
Riding to Support Local Healthcare
Since 2002, more than 6,500 cyclists and their families have traveled to Whidbey Island from 37 states, Canada, and 87 towns across Washington to take in some of the most breathtaking views in the Pacific Northwest—while raising vital funds for local healthcare.
Proceeds from the Tour de Whidbey directly support WhidbeyHealth Hospital and Clinics by funding top-priority surgical and diagnostic equipment, facility improvements, and scholarships for medical staff.
Hosted by the WhidbeyHealth Foundation, this beloved community fundraiser also boosts tourism and drives economic activity on our rural island. Participants turn their ride into a weekend getaway—staying in local hotels, dining at island restaurants, and shopping in our unique boutiques.
The 2024 Tour saw riders ranging from just 1 year old to 83, celebrating diversity and inclusion across all ages and backgrounds. Each year, hundreds of volunteers from across the island join in to support this "friend-raiser," managing logistics for six scenic routes and staffing ten fully stocked break stations along the way.
